I am a Nonresident Alien and I live in Ensenada Baja California Mexico. I’m about to buy many electronics. Total value would be around $12,000 for my personal use. I am building my own house and I want to buy from SEARS in Chula Vista, California, but I don’t want to pay double tax (in the US and Mexico) since I am going to import the merchandise to Mexico. Is there any way to avoid the payment of taxes in Chula Vista?

Hello,

I am a Tunisian national on J1 Visa in the US. However, I have never paid taxes in Tunisia. I did my PhD and was working in France for 5 years paying taxes there. I got my visa in France. Is my tax residency France or is it Tunisia? Because if I claim it to be Tunisia, there is no two years tax treaty. If it's France, what documents I need to claim the tax refund?

I am doing freelancing for two different companies and I have several questions. I deliver for them digital files, such as research, PowerPoints or excel files. Is commission rebate from the buyer's Realtor to the buyer a taxable income? Transaction was done outside of the escrow and 1099-Misc (Box 7) was issued to the buyer following January. 1) is this taxable income for the buyer and 2) if so, is he responsible for SE taxes as well?

To my peers. Do you have concerns over the new RTRP(Registered Tax Return Preparer) testing and licensing? Do you have up to date information? Are any of you thinking of leaving taxes. How would you close this Balance Sheet (B/S) asset on the Final Return for S-Corp?
Cost: 60K – Depreciation 32K = Book Value 28K

Auto Loan (Liability) – 22K

Auto was sold to the shareholder (S/H) for 45K (FMV).

How would you 1) zero-out this B/S item on S-Corp return, 2) where are proceeds flowing and 3) how would you show that S/H had assumed this liability (if needed)?
